When the American Photo cover story chose The Top Ten Wedding Photographers in the World, Denis Reggie topped their list. For a series entitled World’s Greatest Wedding Photographers, a BBC film crew journeyed from the U.K. to profile him and explore his renowned approach. Interviewed in Shanghai, Denis was subject of a one hour documentary on China Television’s Art and Celebrity Channel.

His distinctively spontaneous images have adorned covers of LIFE, People and Elle France magazines and named among Photographs of the Year by People, LIFE, Time, and Newsweek. He’s been a guest on NBC’s Today show many times, interviewed live on Australian television via satellite and appeared on Oprah! His photograph of Oprah with “Jackie O” was highlighted on Oprah’s Favorite Things. He’s been interviewed on Entertainment Tonight, VH-1, E! Entertainment Television, and in live segments on CNN and Fox.

Denis is routinely quoted and profiled online and in printed publications including a New York Times Style section feature. A native of Crowley, Louisiana, he was profiled in an episode of Louisiana Public Broadcasting’s Louisiana Legends. He is an Outstanding Alumni Award recipient, the highest honor bestowed on a University of Louisiana graduate.

His photographs are frequently published online and in books on weddings, etiquette, and photography including ones by Vera Wang, Letitia Baldridge, LIFE, Vogue and Town & Country. Denis’s captivating portrait of Edward Kennedy is the cover photograph of the Senator’s New York Times best selling autobiography True Compass.

Denis was the first wedding photographer named by Canon to its prestigious Explorers of Light program and recently as the only wedding photographer named to the elite Canon Legends honor roll of accomplished photographers. Microsoft selected him as one of ten photographers in the world recognized as an Icon of Imaging. He has advised companies including Apple, SmugMug and The Knot and widely acknowledged for his ongoing contributions to wedding photography.

Denis twice addressed Congress on Capitol Hill in support of copyright reform for visual artists leading to important legislation enacted in 2020. He was the youngest recipient of wedding photography industry’s Lifetime Achievement Award and honored at the WPPI international convention.
